
Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ, whose genuine name was Abdullaah. He was the child of Abu Qahafah, whose genuine name was Usman. Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ was brought into the world more than two years after the Year of the Elephants. From his childhood, he was far separated from the abuse and foulness that is related with the time of Ignorance, while being saturated with all the excellent attributes of the Arabs of the time. His character and conduct was consistently excellent and even before Islam, he precluded alcohol for himself. He was an expert on Arab genealogies and knew all the Arab families and clans. He was continually helping poor people and the feeble and earned the regard of the rich and incredible also.
The Arabs alluded their questions to him and acknowledged all the decisions he passed. He in this way delighted in much recognition and regard and involved a high situation in the public arena. He was an accomplished and adroit specialist and furthermore a specialist in the understanding of dreams. He trusted Rasulullaah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ about the episode of Mi’raaj decisively and it was a result of this that Rasulullaah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ gave him the title of Siddiq. He sufficiently special to go with Rasulullaah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ on the memorable excursion of Hijrah. This earned him the title of “ثانی الثنین” (the second of the two), which has been immemorially recorded in the Qur’aan. After the Hijrah, he took an interest in all the undertakings that Rasulullaah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ was a piece of and persevered through the preliminaries in the battle of Islam by the side of Rasulullaah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ.
